My Chocolate Sponge Cake recipe is easy to make at home and perfect for celebrations. This delicious chocolate Sponge Cake recipe takes 1 hour to prepare. 

Ingredients                            

  • Softened butter                                 200 g
  • Castor sugar                                      200 g
  • Eggs, lightly beaten                          3
  • Self-raising flour sifted                    275 g
  • Dark chocolate, chopped               150 g
  • Milk                                                    2 tbsp

  1. Preheat the oven to 180c. Lightly grease a 2o-cm square/round springform cake tin and line the base with non-stick baking paper. 
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs a little at a time, alternating with a tablespoon of flour.
  3. Add the milk. Beat well to make a light batter, then fold in the rest of flour. 
  4. In the last add the chocolate. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 1 hour or until cooked thoroughly. cool in a tin for 5 minutes before turning out onto a rack.

Decorate it with chocolate chips and dry nuts and enjoy it.
